Vicuña fiber is one of the rarest and most luxurious natural fibers in the world. For centuries, people in the Andes have valued it for its incredible softness and warmth. The fiber comes from the fleece of the vicuña, a small wild relative of the Alpaca and the Llama. Because the animal lives in the high Andes and produces only a small amount of fleece, vicuña yarn is extremely precious and often used to make high-end garments and accessories.

One of the most beautiful aspects of vicuña fiber is its natural color. The fleece usually appears in soft tones such as cream, beige, or light brown. Some animals have deeper reddish-brown shades, which can be used to produce slightly darker yarns. This gives the yarn a silky, almost feather-light texture that feels extremely soft against the skin.
